Debates Round 2: What They Should Really Be Talking About

Tonight marks the second Republican debate – this time hosted by CNN – this time still featuring idiots. It makes no difference what station these people appear on, though perhaps there will be less riotous applause from the audience when the contestants (because this is America’s greatest pageant) spew hateful rhetoric. Although, it’s still the republican debate, so I assume the… Read More »

Fox News Forgets! But I Remember…

It all started with Megyn Kelly and her damn period. Wait, that’s not it. It started with a Fox News debate. Start isn’t the right word. There’s nothing new going no here, just fresh stories. The tsunami of bullshit and misdirection has merely continued on as scheduled, though with slightly blonder hair. It all continued, as it will, with Megyn Kelly… Read More »

Fox News Hosts Republican Debate: LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

In case you haven’t been keeping up, there are now seventeen contenders for the Republican presidential nomination. Seventeen, you say? I’m also confused by this number. I found a list of thirty-seven candidates, actually, so seventeen seems a bit modest. But seventeen is the number that most people consider to be serious, so let’s go with that. Though this number could be… Read More »

Kim Kardashian for President

It’s time to bow our heads and embrace our future. The future of Ms. President Kardashian. Before you get angry, I just want to walk you through this for a second. I’m going to take you on a sensory journey unlike anything you’ve ever experienced and I think by the end you’ll agree with me. We need Kim Kardashian to… Read More »

Freddie Gray and Fox News: “Up to No Good”

Sometimes when things are really sad and hurtful, and the world feels like it’s crushed under the weight of its own injustices, it helps to focus on some humor. It doesn’t help when the humor is coming from the news. I’m talking, of course, about the coverage of the Baltimore riots and the shockingly violent and mysterious death of Freddie… Read More »

Indecision-Ville: 2016 Election

Aren’t we all so tired? It’s April of 2015, the election is a year and a half away, and sometimes I catch myself turning on the news and letting out a long, extended sigh of apathy. And sometimes that sigh of apathy makes me choke and then I cough a lot because I am out of shape. And then I… Read More »

This Month in the GOP: February

This Month in the GOP: February

February is a bitch of a month. Though it holds the least days, the freezing temperatures and back-to-back snowstorms make it feel unending. It is the epitome of the monotony of winter; the holiday lights are down, the new year has passed, the resolutions are forgotten, and I’m just a fat, freezing mess of a woman, refusing to get out… Read More »

Veterans, Death Penalty, and American Sniper

A month ago, Georgia executed a Vietnam veteran as punishment for a 1998 slaying of a Sheriff’s Deputy. The murder was pretty horrific. The veteran, Andrew Brannan, was pulled over during a routine traffic stop by 22-year-old Laurens County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Dinkheller. Mr. Brannan pulled a gun out of his car and opened fire on Deputy Dinkheller, shooting him nine times.… Read More »

NYPD’s War on Bill de Blasio

NYPD’s War on Bill de Blasio

Two police officers died a week before Christmas. A gunman traveled from Baltimore, found two officers sitting in their patrol car in Bed Stuy, and shot them in the heads. I don’t need to say it’s a tragedy because we already agree on that. It’s terrible. It’s a twisted, sick interpretation of a rather peaceful movement to bring awareness and… Read More »

Racism: It’s What’s For Dinner

It’s been a really hard couple of weeks in this country. Not only are the usual things affecting us – Obama is still Muslim, guyz – but backlash has been widespread over the lack of indictment (and justice) in the Eric Garner and Michael Brown cases. Add to this the growing list of black bodies at the hands of cops… Read More »
